This page provides a range of schemes used by civilian DC-3s, B170 and Carvair in New Zealand.

RNZAF schemes can be found under RNZAF 40s-60s. The warbird ZK-DAK can be found under NZ Warbirds.

The DC-3 decals were scaled in 72nd and 144th scales against a range of kits and scaled up for 48th and down for 1/200th (Hasegawa kit). Buyers of the 48th scale decals have reported good fit.

Other scales can be catered for - please ask. (for example I have done a 1/32 of the NAC Skyliner scheme for the Guillows kit and 1/80 for the push-fit kits)

The Carvair decals have been fitted to the F-RSIN conversion kit but should also fit the Roden kit.

The B170 decals are fitted to the (modified) Airfix kit in 72nd and Welsh Mk31 in 144th. 10/2020 UPDATE: All the B170 sets now contain window decals. JUL 21: NAC DC-3s 1st and 2nd scheme and NAC Freightair 1st scheme updated  Dec 21: NEW:  Four new DC-3 schemes in 1/48, 72, 96, 144 and 200 - NAC 1940s interim schemes, NAC DC-3Ds 1940s Pacific service schemes, Airland early scheme, and Airland late - Fieldair early scheme. The Union Airways - NAC Lodestar is now also available in 1/48.

All known registrations and names are catered for.

The aircraft destined for passenger use but in full camo were when time permitted stripped of the camo and the minimal markings replaced.  This set covers these three schemes.  The first 7 full DC-3D conversions in Australia can be found on the Pacific Service set. The remainder were converted to DC-3C status in Palmerston North. In late 1949 to early 1950 all DC-3s were repainted in NAC's first corporate scheme. 1/48
